Information we collect

We collect information you give us directly — for example when you contact us, sign up to our newsletter, request support, volunteer or donate. This may include your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message.

When you visit our website we also collect limited technical information, such as your browser type, the pages you view and the country you are visiting from, to help us keep the site working well and understand how it is used.

How we use your information

We use your information to respond to your enquiries, provide and improve our services, keep you updated if you have asked us to, process donations and send you a receipt for them, and meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We will never sell your personal information, and we only share it where necessary to deliver a service you have asked for or where the law requires.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how many people visit our website and which pages are most useful to them.

It is designed to be privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies, it does not track you across other websites, and it does not build a profile of you. It reports only aggregate information, such as the number of page views, the country a visit came from and which website referred you.

Who else handles your information

We use a small number of trusted providers to run our website and services. They may only process information on our instructions:

Cloudflare — delivers and protects our website, and provides the cookieless analytics described above.

Stripe — securely processes donations. Your card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

Resend — sends the thank-you and receipt emails for your donations. It receives your name, email address and the details of your gift, and nothing else.

Keeping your information safe

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described here.

We also keep security records of who accesses our management area and when, including IP addresses, so that we can detect and investigate any unauthorised access. These records are kept for around 90 days.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to withdraw consent to marketing at any time. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you have concerns about how we handle your data.
